Elliptical Machine Exercise: three different models – What is better?
Buying an elliptical? Elliptical exercise machines used simple. Precor introduced the first round in the 1990's and other fitness brands like NordicTrack, Proform Schwinn and went home more affordable versions.
If you're buying an elliptical today, you will realize that you have plenty of options. One of the main options you have is that the style or design of the elliptical you want.
Elliptical exercise machines provide three general designs: front-wheel drive, rear drive and CPU. What is the best?
Here is a brief description of each one so you can decide what best suits your needs:
# 1 Drive – As its name suggests, this design put the wheel on the back – behind the pedals. This was the first design originally introduced by Precor. However, many brands now produce this design as NordicTrack and soft.
Rear drive ellipticals tend to give a flat elliptical motion – something like an idea in progress. According to some reports later models also provide more inertia drive behind you, but really can not feel myself.
# 2 Front Drive – This design came late market and put the flywheel in front of the pedals. This design tends to give a further escalation or feel inclined elliptical motion.

# 3 Center Drive – This is a new design in the domestic market. Instead of a big wheel in the front or rear, two smaller leaflets on the side of the footpedals user.
Advantages of this design (besides just looking good) is that these machines take up less space than the two other designs. They also tend to keep the user upright with the footpedals more closer together, that many people feel more natural.
On the other hand, in my mind at least, two small ruffles vs 1, double the breakable objects on my elliptical.
More these ellipticals are not as readily available as the other 2 models. NordicTrack ago few. But the most popular brand used in their manufacture – Ironman – it would be a great choice because its parent company – Keys Fitness – declared bankruptcy.
So what is the best design?
Well, it really depends on you. For example, if you have a small amount of training is possible who wants a central elliptical drive (or you can simply opt for a front-drive elliptical folding). If you prefer a flatter feel, running movement type, you may want a rear-drive machine.
But keep in mind that the design is not the only contributor to a smooth stable elliptical. Other features to look include the length of stride, the user weight capacity, appropriate ergonomic design and quality construction.
Keep these things in mind while searching for your elliptical exercise equipment. Take your time and you're guaranteed to find one you like for future use years.
