Why can not I lose weight????

I am a man of 33 years. I'm 6 feet tall and weighs 226 pounds. I have a beer belly and I'm out form. A little more than 3 weeks ago, I decided to make a lifestyle change. I stopped drinking (he came home after work and put back 3.4, or 5 beers a night) and I workout 3 times a week in my new Total Gym (workout machine that has the infomercials with Chuck Norris and Christy Brinkley). After 3 + weeks, I have not lost weight. What's happening?
