What is the best free weight machines for a gym?

Hardgainer am a man of 16 who has been thinking about buying some free weight equipment to try to bulk over the summer. I'm leaning torward free weight because I was told that it is much better because of the fact that muscle forces support to help hold the weight instead of relying on a machine to only allow movement within the form without any maintenance effort in the right place, if this is inncorect please correct me. I've been thinking about buying a tilting / decline bench, somthing like http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do? product_id = 5155940 and some dumbells and weights and to go along with it, what else should I get to go along with it? Do I need to get another rack for squats and such, or could only pick from the bench. Any advice is welcome and appreciated, thanks.
