How well am I doing with my "5K"?

This will be a little more than a twist on the usual question that never 5K I did a 5K run outdoors. My "5K" experience is from my past 8 months in the gym, using machines such as the http://us.commercial.lifefitness.com/content.cfm/classicseriesellipticalcrosstrainer, machine ramp of the Cross, and one elliptic (have not done this experiment on tape yet). What I found is that in 30 minutes, when I run 3.15 miles the resistance of the machine is between 40-50% of capacity (in the case of the previous machine, 11 of a possible 25). This works out to approx. 5.06 km every 30 minutes or about a 29:35 5K. I am 31 years old, 5'9 "and 177 pounds. The question I have is … Is this good? Bad? Media? Indifferent? From what I understand, is at the upper end of middle, but not much above average … yet.

That is very good indeed. I'd recommend running outside too although at least once a week. It's a change, strengthens the immune system and is a new challenge.
